Intense Pulse Light Laser and what your need to know

Oils aint Oils
Lasers aint lasers

The Paddington Beauty Room invested heavily when searching for the best IPL (Intense Pulse Light) Laser machine available to give fast, safe and painless results. Cynosure/Palomar is a US based company that has the largest amount of patents assigned to lasers. They are industry leaders and developers. The Icon is the particular machine we use and recommend.

NOW! Trying to avoid getting too technical and thingy about laser here are the key points to why the Icon is the best on the market.

The laser head uses white sapphire instead of quartz crystal. The sapphire is a natural cooling agent which is advantageous as it generally allows us to use a strong pulse without heat and pain building up.
The laser heads are lined with reflective material so ALL the laser light is directed through the sapphire lens and not lost into the hand piece. This ensures that we don’t lose any intensity which means we can use lower setting to get better results with less discomfort.
Due to the above features and many more we find most people have less treatments to get the results than other machines available on the market.

Winter is the best time to allocate to IPL treatments as it is easier to avoid sun exposure however it can be done all year round.

What does IPL treat?

The Icon can treat many problems pending on the hand-piece. As laser is still unregulated in Australia we choose to only offer Hair Removal and Photo-Rejuvenation ( inc pigmentation and capillaries) areas that as Beauty Therapists we are beyond qualified to treat.

Hair Removal…tell me more!

The secret lies in the technology. Cynosure’s laser hair removal treatments target and destroy the hair cells responsible for hair growth without damaging the surrounding skin. The result is smooth, hair-free skin that lasts!

A series of 3-6 treatments is recommended for optimal results but, every client is different. Our hair naturally grows in 3 different stages. All our hair is not in the same stage at the same time, so when an area is treated only a percentage of hair follicles will be affected. Therefore, to effectively reduce your unwanted hair, multiple treatments are necessary. You can expect to see a gradual decrease in the hair thickness and in the amount of hair present. In addition, you may also see a decrease in stubble, rashes and ingrown hairs!

Photo-Rejuvenation, Pigmentation and Capillaries……be gone we say!

Photo-Rejuvenation… hint read lines and wrinkles!

The building blocks of smooth, youthful skin are elastin and collagen—with laser skin revitalization, pulses of light penetrate the skin’s sub-layers, treating its aging support structure. The body’s natural healing process then rebuilds the tissue, with even texture and fewer wrinkles.

Advanced laser technology is used to target your unwanted sun damage and brown spots. The energy delivered causes them to slowly disappear through your body’s natural healing process, revealing clearer, more beautiful-looking skin.
Laser light treatment is appropriate for treating age spots, sun damage, and freckles on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, and feet. Typically, only a few treatments are needed however depending on the condition, several treatments may be required to achieve desired results.

Most people experience a mild, sun-burn like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor swelling, immediately following the treatment. This usually lasts 2 to 24 hours. We will discuss other possible side-effects and the necessary post-treatment care.

Veins and broken capillaries

Vein treatments use advanced laser technology to target and destroy the blood vessels responsible for veins, causing them to visibly disappear. Since the laser targets the blood vessels within the vein, there is minimal or no damage to the outer layer of skin.
A series of treatments may be needed to fully clear blood vessels and reduce the appearance of the veins completely. Typically, one to four sessions are needed for desired results. Many clients experience immediate improvement in the appearance of their veins following the treatment followed by continued improvement over the next week or so.

To discuss more and and receive individual information we invite you to book an IPL consultation which is $60 and is redeemable of your first IPL treatment. During the consultation we also check your medical history and compatibility to IPL treatments and we also perform a patch test. The patch test allows us to check your skin tolerance and gives you an experience of the treatment.
